Group Classes

  • This class is designed for puppies between 10-16 weeks at time of sign up. Must have at least first set of vaccines and provide vaccine certificate as well as schedule for future vaccines.

  • This class is designed for puppies aged 17 weeks - 6 months old at times of sign up. Must be up to date with age appropriate vaccines.

  • This class is designed for dogs over 6 months of age.

    Our goal is to teach you and your dogs the foundations of learning, how to work as a team and how to connect best with your dog.

    Dog’s must be comfortable around other dogs, if your dog struggles with reactivity please send a private message to discuss options.

  • This class is designed for dogs over 6 months of age that have successfully passed Canine Fundamentals.

    A continuation of learning, building the skills required to have a dog that can go anywhere. With reliable leash skills, settling and individual recall while working in a group.

    Dog’s must be comfortable around other dogs, if your dog struggles with reactivity please send a private message to discuss options.

  • This class is designed for dogs over 6 months of age.

    Learn the basics of canine exercise. Warm/ Cool down exercises to avoid strains or injury during sports. Learn how to incorporate exercise safely to keep you pet happy, healthy and FIT!

  • New to FSJ Canine Behaviour this Winter, join us for some intro to Agility Classes. We provide an introduction to agility equipment, no experience necessary!

    Focus on building mind and body connection, improving motor skills and building strength through exercise.

Ongoing Training & Enrichment

  • For the dogs who enjoy getting out and spending some time socializing during the day. Approx. 1.5 hour outing with a professional trainer. includes pick up/ drop off services in our secure vehicle (within Fort St John city limits)

    Dog’s will enjoy a variety of activities such as: Group walks, group training, individual training and structured off leash play in our secure indoor building!

  • Walk side-by-side with your dog and other teams in a supportive group setting designed to build manners, confidence, and connection.
    You and your dog can join with the FSJ Canine Behaviour Guided Walks.

    • Bi-weekly group of like-minded dog owners working on leash/ reactivity in a group setting. 

    • Exploring trails around town while focusing on unleashing the dogs' full potential!

    • Group activities, walk at your own pace, group settles, interactions with the environment and more!

    Goal: Set up you and your dog for successful walks!

Private Services

  • If you are struggling with a specific behaviour, or just need some one-on-one guidance, we offer private sessions to work with you and your dog. Customizing each training plan to suite your unique needs.

  • If your dog isn’t ready for a group, or you just want them to have some extra one-on-one time, we also offer private Take & Trains.

    A 60 minute session with pick up and drop off services within Fort St John.

  • Private Walks set up for individual or household dogs!

    45 minute walk that focuses on meeting the dogs needs, sniffing, exploration and training.

    During our walk, we work on building recall and leash skills.

    Great for reactive dogs!

FSJ Canine Behaviour is a Fort St John based business offering canine training through positive reinforcement.

Our mission is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and support to further your training at any time. We focus on the how, what, and whys of training versus strict obedience. Understanding each and every behaviour and cue that is taught is crucial for developing a life long bond with your dog.

Shalise Schroeder (Clark) RVT, CBST, FFCP is the owner and sole trainer at FSJ Canine Behaviour. Shalise has a diploma in Canine Behaviour from the Companion Animal Institution in addition to being a Registered Veterinary Technician with over 12 years in the animal industry and over 8 years of experience with professional dog training. She is also a member of the IAABC and is certified through Fear Free Pets

Using positive reinforcement and force free training methods Shalise has worked with a variety of behavioural concerns. Prioritizing the education of why these behaviours are occurring and working along side the owner to make life long changes.
